Nielsen Ranks 13th on List of Va. Contractors
March 11, 2009 HARRISONBURG - A Harrisonburg construction firm was the only local company to make this year's list of the state's top general contractors as ranked by Virginia Business magazine. Nielsen Builders was No. 13 on the list, which ranked companies based on the dollar value of "work put in place in Virginia." Nielsen put up $175 million worth of construction in 2008, according to the magazine. First on the list was W.M. Jordan Co. of Newport News with $443 million. The magazine's March issue ranks companies in several industries, from accounting to health care, by varying criteria.
